Aldgate fantasy

This fantasy layout is based in a future where Aldgate station has all the services both Aldgate and Aldgate East had.

Services are:

  • Metropolitan line – North-west London – Upminister
  • District line – South-west London – Upminister
  • Circle line – (Edgware Road via Tower Hill to Hammersmith via King’s Cross)
  • (the Hammersmith and City line no longer exists)

The headcodes for reference are included on the screen. Please note that repeats do not change headcodes.

Routes do not need to clash, but you can do so if you wish. Keep an eye on the destinations, as it is quite often impossible to return them to their correct destinations.

The timetable is formed of 6 services that repeat 100 times each (bear in mind this is a rather intensive timetable). Feel free to increase the number of repeats.

The timetable has a set of errors, meaning it won’t load up into the program. The problem was that it didn’t find a location called “Aldgate”, because such location doesn’t exist. You’ve named all the Aldgate platforms to “Aldgate Platform 2”, that is why it couldn’t find ‘Aldgate’.

All that needs to be done to fix this is edit the location name of the platforms to ‘Aldgate’. 🙂

Edit: You also cannot go to King’s Cross via Platform 3, like it’s recommended, since there’s no rail linking these two.

I’ve modified this layout to remove all of the extra tracks, streamline the remaining tracks, add plenty of signals and ditch the disused station. I’ve also delayed the Circle Line to Tower Hill train by 1 minute to avoid it being delayed. I’ve also modified the headcodes to be easier to identify which trains are which (ie: 1CKC is the Circle Line train to Kings Cross, 1MUP is the Metropolitan Line train to Upminster, etc.) When this gets going, it’s fast-paced but manageable. All that’s left to do is adjust the timetable so that it has correct arrival and departure times.

I enjoyed operating the ‘fantasy’ so I’ll look forward to these modifications

This isn’t my route, but I did make some modifications to it. I suppose that out of respect to the original author, I should send it back to him first, but I’m not sure how to.
