Earls Court District Line

This is a replication of the whole Earls Court signal box District Line section. The Piccadilly Line has been left out for ease of operation, though I have added the Piccadilly Line tracks that run parallel with the District Line, but there are no services in the supplied timetable.
It looks daunting, but it is possible to man handle this monster map. Once you get used to the service pattern, you’ll be able to set routes a bit early and it will become a bit easier to operate.

I decided to create this map as a challenge, and it took many weeks just to design the Ealing Broadway to Earls Court section. Many rebuilds had to be done to either shorten or expand areas, and I tried not to made it too wide from end to end. The section from Earls Court to Aldgate was a bit easier, again I was trying to condense it as much as I could to save scrolling time across the layout.

I did start to wonder if I could actually operate my own railway, so I decided that I would go along with a Sunday timetable (which is busier than I thought!) and omitted Piccadilly services. I found this was just about manageable though I managed to stuff it it a couple of times. It does test your concentration, as I found out when I sent a Tower Hill terminating service on the through line platform rather than the bay platform!

Please read the readme file before you start, and also you can read the manual too, which explains the service numbers, trains, locations and a guide, which tells you what happens for the first hour to help you get started.
